Experimental Process

Western blot analysis and lacZ fusion assays demonstrated activation of flgB, fliF and orf38 by Rem. DNase I footprinting of their promoters revealed putative Rem binding sites. Multiple sequence alignment of these and other related promoters identified a Rem consensus binding sequence.
