Experimental Process

phlF-lacZ and phlA-lacZ fusion assays determined phlABCD repression by PhlF in the early logarithmic growth phase of P. fluorescens, with PHL inhibiting this repression in later growth stages. EMSA using DNA fragments of varied lengths confirmed PhlF binding to the phlA-phlF intergenic region. Copper-phenanthroline footprinting localized the binding site.

Gene Regulation

Regulated genes for each binding site are displayed below. Gene regulation diagrams show binding sites, positively-regulated genes, negatively-regulated genes, both positively and negatively regulated genes, genes with unspecified type of regulation. For each indvidual site, experimental techniques used to determine the site are also given.
