Experimental Process

RNase protection assays and visual sequence inspection of the sodB promoter determined a single nucleotide polymorphism at the -5 bp affects the regulation of sodB by apo-Fur in H.pylori G27, H.pylori 26695, H.pylori J99, and H.pylori HPAG1. EMSAs confirmed that apo-Fur binds specifically to the sodB promoters in H.pylori G27 and H.pylori 26695.
