Curation notes
WT Bacillus subtilis strain contains a frame shift mutation in the rpmGC gene. The B. subtilis rpmGC pseudogene is located between yqjK and yqjL. The frameshift mutation was repaired to produce a functional product of the rpmGC gene (L33 protein). Because CollecTF couldn't find this pseudogene on the B. subtilis genome, a closely related Bacillus strains ( B. amyloliquefaciens in which rpmGC encodes a full-length L33 protein) was used.

Experimental Process

Northern blot analysis showed that rpmGC transcript was produced only in zur mutant strain. EMSA confirmed that Zur bound rpmGC promoter. rpmGC transcription start site was determined by 5'RACE.

Gene Regulation

Regulated genes for each binding site are displayed below. Gene regulation diagrams show binding sites, positively-regulated genes, negatively-regulated genes, both positively and negatively regulated genes, genes with unspecified type of regulation. For each indvidual site, experimental techniques used to determine the site are also given.
