Experimental Process

EMSAs were done to validate that Fur binds the promoter regions of its target genes. Fur-mediated transcription regulation of the newly identified genes was further verified by qRT-PCR analysis. Fur boxes within the promoter regions were identified by DNase I footprinting analysis. The primary Fur boxes of each promoter region were aligned using the software MultAlin, and a sequence logo was created by MEME.
