Experimental Process

Iron regulation demonstrated with beta-gal, primer extension and observation of enzyme activity. Fur site identified by visual inspection. To find the binding site, the researcher first manually located the fur box then for binding confirmation, performed a Fur titration assay (FURTA) and primer extension assay. For regulation method, a northern blot was performed.

Gene Regulation

Regulated genes for each binding site are displayed below. Gene regulation diagrams show binding sites, positively-regulated genes, negatively-regulated genes, both positively and negatively regulated genes, genes with unspecified type of regulation. For each indvidual site, experimental techniques used to determine the site are also given.
